Hello all fellow classmates of class of '64.  Lots of distance since then. AVJC, Army, Vietnam, 1st Inf Div 66-67, Graduated from Cal Poly, SLO in '71 and again in '78. Worked for State Dept Military Training Contractor in Khamish Mushyat, Saudi Arabia in '73, and was involved in a number of Co-Gen, Geothermal, Petro-chem, Oil, Nuclear Waste Remediation and HVAC projects stateside and around the world.  Retired now in Oregon.  Lovin' Life.  Still in touch with Ray Manning ('64) and Chet Taylor ('60).  Writing "irreverent stuff" now instead of tech reports, "Mojave Roadkill Cafe".  Best of all to those who experienced living in Antelope Valley, and believe me, I have met folks in every corner of this globe who had lived in AV at one time or another.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish a Happy 100th Aniversary to AV High and alumni. Unfortunately, I was unable to attend because of a previous commitment overseas; however, I do extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of those who did attend this very special occasion and to the thousands of other alumni who over the many years helped to make AVHS more than just a school.

Happy 100 years! What a lot of memories, the year I graduated was 1975. My fondest memory was walking to the annex first thing in the morning, through the cold fog, standing on the senior lawn when I was a freshman.  The bar-b-que beef sandwhich and a cherry coke for lunch at the snack bar.  During the football games huddling under a shared blanket drinking hot chocolate with friends.  Going to the home gymnastics team meet and watching my older brother Greg bring home the trophys. Oh yeah, my Teachers I can't forget them.  May AVHS shine another 100 years and beyond, GO PLUNGERS, I mean GO Antelopes!  God Bless you all.  Sheryl Ferrett Dunn

Greetings to all especially to the classes of the 1940s,

My niece, Margaret Reilly Bates, tipped me off to this event months ago, but I have only this evening discovered this guest book.  I am eagerly looking forward to the Centenary celebration and to seeing classmates and many friends, especially Eastsiders with whom I attended Roosevelt (now Eastside) elementary school from 1933 to 1940.

I was student body president for the 1943-1944 school year.  I graduated early - - in January 1944 - - and went off in February to the Navy V-12 accelerated officer training program.  George Sawyer, elected Vice President with me, served as president for the second semester of the school year, then went off to the Army.

How about organizing a group photo-op of all former student body presidents in attendance at the Centenary celebration?

The older I get, the more I want to remember the past.  What a wonderful chance to do so by attending a great event.

Sadly, I cannot be there.  My wife, Alice and I are the legal guardians for our 13 year old Granddaughter.  Her name is Shelbi, and she is a special needs child.  She has been with us since she was 11 months old and everyday has been a blessing for us.  Shelbi shows us so much by dealing with so many issues.

I hope the day is a great one.

Sounds like so much fun .  . . my husband & I won't be able to make it   . . . we are living in Arizona and are swamped with responsibilities (teaching, etc.) at our church.  Hope all the 64 grads are in great numbers at this wonderful event . . . hats off to all the workers involved in putting this gathering together.

I am coming to the AVHS Centennial with wonder and enthusiasm. I was/am an Antelope, dedicated to the spirit of the 1970's & beyond, a seasoned cheerleader and fellow student who remains grateful for our teachers, leaders and administrators.  Thanks in advance for making it a most memorable gathering of those who truly love, respect and honor AVHS - HATS OFF TO all who contributed to our education, and AGREE that AV is the greatest High School in LA County these past 100+ years!
